Sulaiman Mohd. Khan is the Founding and Senior-most Partner of Solomon & T, bringing with him an extensive litigation experience of over 18 years. He specializes in Criminal Law, Administrative Law and Policy, Constitutional Law, Real Estate and Property Law, Arbitration, and Service Tax matters. Mr. Khan is widely recognized for his exceptional advocacy skills, particularly his ability to handle complex and voluminous matters with remarkable clarity, precision, and persuasive force. His courtroom presence and structured arguments have consistently set him apart as a formidable litigator. He has served as Government Counsel for the State of Uttar Pradesh, representing the State before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Additionally, he represented the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and various High Courts. His expertise has also been acknowledged by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, which appointed him as Amicus Curiae in major criminal appeals, including murder cases, where he successfully argued and secured favorable outcomes for appellants/convicts. He is the permanent member of the Indian Council of Arbitration and is in the panel of Arbitrators in ICA.
Mr. Khan has emerged as one of the most sought-after counsels in policy-related litigation before the Supreme Court. He has successfully argued writ petitions challenging arbitrary governmental decisions, particularly in relation to the Haj Policy. He has also played a pivotal role as lead counsel in service tax matters concerning the levy of Service Tax/GST on Private Haj Group Operators (HGOs), representing associations of HGOs before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
He has served as Panel Counsel for the Ministry of External Affairs (Haj Cell) from 2011 to 2015, and for the State of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017 before the Supreme Court of India. He also served as Arguing Counsel on the Criminal Panel of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee from 2018 to 2022. He has been appointed as Amicus Curiae by the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court in significant criminal appeals and is currently serving as Panel Advocate for the Indian Railway Welfare Organisation (IRWO).
Mr. Khan has been at the forefront of significant constitutional litigation. He has filed a writ petition before the Supreme Court on behalf of Member of Parliament Zia Ur Rehman, challenging the constitutionality of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025. He has also filed multiple Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) challenging recovery orders issued against peaceful protestors during the CAA/NRC demonstrations, reflecting his commitment to civil liberties and constitutional values.
Taiba Khan is Managing Partner of Solomon & T, with over 14 years of litigation experience, She represents clients before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and various tribunals, offering a deep understanding of the Indian legal landscape and a strong track record of delivering strategic, result-oriented legal solutions. She began her career with C & B Law Consultants and later transitioned into independent practice, where she has handled a wide range of complex matters including constitutional law, arbitration, corporate negotiations, civil and criminal litigation, as well as real estate and property disputes. She has been retained as legal counsel by prominent organizations such as Reliance Communications Ltd. and Montage Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., and has also been empanelled as an advocate with BHEL. Her professional credentials include membership with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), along with certification and accreditation as an arbitrator from IIAM (Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation) and APCAM (Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation). Additionally, she is a certified mediator trained under the Supreme Court of India.
